12 products left, but today Venue
Hi friend 👋,
Several times I mentioned how vital it is to the success of the business that the employees embrace the company's culture. Ultimately, any startup will be successful if its creator can figure out how to make one plus one equal more than two. It can be thought of as the k-factor of the employee power. Of course, this can only occur if every member of the team feels that they contributed equally to the success of the business. The simplest approach to establishing this is through the provision of constant transparency. I'm aware that it's becoming more difficult as the teams expand. The team's quality will begin to differ substantially, and the same communication tactics will not work for everyone. Companies must now develop specialized rituals to allow the team to communicate and ask questions. We heard amusing stories from big-tech businesses' AMA sessions, and I recall how successful Zuckerberg is in these discussions. In terms of employee approval rates, I believe he was one of the top CEOs. Yes, things have changed, but that is a whole different story.
How can you maintain the quality of team gatherings in a remote world? We have Zoom, Teams, Meet, and other similar platforms, however as the number of attendees grows, you will become nearly invisible in these tools. Because these tools limit listeners' and speakers' environmental awareness, it is difficult to conduct a town hall meeting where everyone can raise questions in an order. If they talk, the only emphasis is on them, and connecting with them is practically impossible. The feedback loop for such meetings is broken. Perhaps there are other options...
Today, Venue is our product.
Venue is entirely dedicated to events with a large number of attendees. They enable presenters to present anything without losing the audience thanks to their interface. Furthermore, the chatbox is not distracting and allows individuals to participate with the speaker in a sensible manner. Because its focus is so narrow, they had the opportunity to incorporate more gimmicks, such as random 1-1s among audiences. It might be your go-to tool for organizing a sales kick-off or a small event with many speakers.
I have my doubts about whether or not this is the best way to spend one's life, but it's undeniable that most of us spend the majority of our waking hours at work. In this sense, it is relevant to every aspect of our lives. It's on the leaders' shoulders to make things better, therefore they should seize every opportunity they can. Working in a product company gives you the impression of being a part of something special. I hope that's how you're feeling right now, wherever you are.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
