15 products left, but today June
Hi friend π,
Some of the tools we use are inherently complex. Salesforce is an excellent example. Salesforce allows you to accomplish so much and incorporate your own sales cycle. Giving that much flexibility makes the product difficult to use and difficult to integrate. One of the most challenging tradeoffs for product managers is between flexibility and usability. It depends on the situation, and it's difficult to say which is correct. From the user's perspective, we believe that they always prefer and stick with simple one-job tools; nonetheless, there is no billion-dollar industry built around this. And the big tech eats everything.
A same scenario applies to product analytics tools. If you have a mobile application, a B2C SaaS tool, a B2B SaaS tool, or an enterprise oriented B2B SaaS solution, your analytics requirements will be very different. And every analytics tools out there claim the same "create better products". Check out MixPanel and Amplitude; their websites have nearly identical copy. They don't emphasize the target persona; instead, they suggest it's ideal for any product. They are, in my opinion, wrong. Today I'm going to show you a product analytics tool that is ideal for B2B SaaS tools.
Today, June is our product.
The nicest part about June is that they are entirely focused on B2B SaaS tools. The feature adoption rates are the most critical factor for these products. Doing the correct thing in the proper order is only possible if these judgments are validated using activation rates, especially if these technologies do not provide tailor-made solutions. Even establishing a separation between Company and User and knowing user personas can improve your understanding and keep you away from making bad judgments.
I've seen June on ProductHunt a few times and I'm always impressed by how enthusiastic they are. The Changelog is their first menu item on their website, demonstrating their speed and passion for their product. It is always a bold move to not using common patterns and I really appreciate the products that donβt give a damn about SEO before they actually express themselves. Yes, you can try June out with the free package (up to 1000 MAU), and you should.
Weβll talk again tomorrow.
