20 products left, but today Raycast
Hi friend 👋,
I am not the greatest person to seek advice on productivity applications. Even after using a Mac for over a decade, I still haven't gotten acclimated to hot corners, 3-finger swipes, and other productivity tricks. Yes, I realize I sounded like a boomer, but if you ask me about the latest innovations that can revolutionize our lives, I could go on and on. Nonetheless, I'm terrible at using a Mac with many screens or using keyboard shortcuts to perform simple tasks. Still, I'm attempting to include them into my regular routine. Meanwhile, my go-to shortcut for changing the context of what I'm doing is cmd+space. I simply search.
Meanwhile, I respect folks who don't require a mouse or a touchpad to use a computer. Even just observing them makes me feel as if I'm experiencing a miracle. And I know they dislike situations in which they must use their touchpad like changing the playlist in Spotify. I'll show you a tool that combines all of these applications into a single main shortcut stream.
Today, Raycast is our product.
Raycast is merely a launcher that can be expanded due to its open source nature. They already have a variety of applications in their Store, such as Spotify, Youtube, Github, Arc, Notion, and so on. After you install it, they provide excellent onboarding to help you set up your new shortcuts. I've been using it for a while and it has already changed my boomer habits. At the very least, I now have a single search bar that I utilize for almost everything. Another convenience was being able to quickly access my clipboard history.
Browsers proved to be our primary operating system application. However, I believe that we are not thoroughly testing the capabilities of desktop applications. Raycast improved my app usage as well, and most tasks are now more seamless. I strongly advise you to give it a shot.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
