Hi friend 👋,
During my undergraduate years, I had two options. I'd either be an actor who works in theaters or a software engineer who works in technology businesses. My interest in theatre began in high school and continued through college. We were an amateur theater troupe that was experimenting with our bodies and thoughts. We wrote plays and adapted classic novels such as The Possessed into plays. I had the impression that I would be able to change the world via the power of art. We were telling stories that helped us understand people and the way the world works. And, to be honest, I was terrible at acting, but I was great at telling stories and leading the group. I learned a lot over these years, and it helped create my personality from the ground up. On the other hand, I was equally enthusiastic about technology, particularly software. I had another circle in the CS department, and we were participating in TopCoder coding contests to improve our algorithm skills. I was also in a research group to work on NLP and big data(2009). It was incredible to witness the possibilities of generating and scaling the surplus value through the power of software and its impact on capitalism. When I graduated, life punched me in the face, and I began my software career at Microsoft.
Every now and then, when I have to shoot a video and do some acting, I become uncomfortable and feel like I'm betraying my true passion. It used to be something that could change the world for me, but now it's just a part of marketing. This information is difficult to accept and destroys my heart. Of course, there is nothing wrong with enjoying what you have to do while earning money. Of course, everything we do is, in the end, a form of marketing. Of course, it's not even acting; it's just making your work more digestible. But still... There could be a variety of reasons why you are not making product videos. It might be too expensive, take too long, or you have a sourpuss CPO like me. I've got you covered today.
Today, synthesia is our product.
Synthesia is an AI-based video creation tool that is extremely simple to use. You create your text, paste it into their editor, choose an actor and a voice, and you're done. You can also modify the actor's position and add background text or video. I consider how much time we spent creating and communicating our message to other teams or individuals, and I am confident that synthesia can help us. They support over 60 languages and have over 70 avatars. You will be able to create fully customized videos using their template gallery and your brand assets.
Synthesia is not a new product, and they have been doing it for quite some time. However, we will witness tens of new startups that exploit the potential of AI with various media units and vertical needs. This will alter how we work on a daily basis and raise a slew of new questions. 2023 may be the year that we truly feel the effects of the recession, but it will also be the year that everyone prepares for the new era. So now, it is good to ask yourself: "are we ready?".
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
