Taking all joking aside, the giving and receiving of gifts is undeniably the most exciting element of these events.

When I really care about someone and want to make them happy beyond the scope of a routine exchange, I adore giving gifts. And it needs to be meaningful, serving a purpose or embodying some aspect of you. I realize that by imposing all these principles and rules, I am making things more difficult for everyone, but that is just how I am. "one purchase - one donate" is a well-known D2C concept. I first saw this at Warby Parker, but I'm sure there are tens of other D2C brands that operate in the same way. In spite of studies indicating otherwise, this brand identity is really appealing to this nearly-boomer. A good incentive for me to buy something is if doing so helps those in need. While I'm sure that American readers are familiar with the name "Bombas," it's largely unknown where I'm from. They also make underwear, t-shirts, and slippers, but we're only going to talk about socks here. My colleague's father works in the textile industry, and he explained why checking merely the material distribution is not enough. Most importantly, pay attention to the length of the cotton staples and the quality of the stitching. Even just reading the reviews on Bombas's socks gets me pumped.
