4 products left, but today hatch
Hi friend 👋,
How many technological devices do you own that you have no idea why you purchased? Or, to put it another way, how many of you have an air fryer? I have no explanation for my weakness for trendy apps and the fear of missing out that accompanies them. I've mentioned before that I'm a skillet dude who cooks everything in one pan. The only exception is when I make spaghetti, and even then, I finish it in a single pan. And I hardly ever used my oven until everyone started talking about air fryers and how life-changing they are. I got one and prepared french fries a couple of times, while eating I tried to convince myself that "I'm smart, normally I'd do it on the oven for 40 minutes or use a lot of oil to fry them; but now in 20 minutes I eat this dry potatoes". The same thing happened with the Robot Vacuum Cleaner. It can't open doors, gets stuck on carpet edges, and won't fit under my couch, yet I have to feel good about my decision to get one.
The same situation was true for smart lighting in houses five or six years ago. Everyone became a Hue fan in a matter of months, and their homes were transformed into dingy nightclubs. I resisted and did not purchase one at the time. I still have occasional anxiety attacks about it and at those moments I imagine like "what if I'd had a Hue and woke up every morning with a beautiful light?". Nothing was going to change, but nevertheless... What if... During one of these bouts, I quickly researched sleep lights and discovered today's tool. It was a great device to put next to the bed, but at CES this year, they introduced their next one, Restore 2, which will be available in February. If I lived in the United States, I'm sure I'd be counting the days...
Today, hatch is our product.
Hatch is more than just lighting; it is also a sleeping buddy. It includes a speaker and smart lighting, and as you might expect, you use it with your phone. You can use the tool to relax and do some breathing exercises before sleeping, and it mimics sunshine in the mornings. The Restore received millions of positive reviews, but the one criticism was about the buttons. It was difficult to discover them because they are naturally embedded in fabric; therefore, when I saw Restore 2, the first thing I checked was the placement of the buttons, which were placed on the top of the gadget. It's a wonderful indicator for the organization that they're listening to their customers.
Sam Chui, for example, is a YouTuber who tries first-class airline experiences all around the world. Why does someone fly first class? Busy? Super-rich? Have constant fatigue? He is neither of them. He simply flies first class and posts videos about his trip. Sometimes I wish I could be Sam Chui of the tech industry and do these things. Not because I need them, but rather to distract myself from the mess.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
