50 products left, but today tavus
Hi friend 👋,
"Starting something is half the battle," as the saying goes in Turkish. That statement is easily debunked by me after 50 products and days. Starting something is one thing, but carrying it out is quite another. Before I go into the story behind today's product, I'd like to talk about this newsletter and where it's going. When I started this, I had no idea what the end outcome would be, and I assumed it would be a dedication test for me. And, as you may have guessed, English is not my first language, so writing personal things in English has always been difficult. So, basically, my objective was to push myself while learning about my taste on product discovery. And if I can ever turn this into an extra source of income, it could even change my life. This one will always be free, but after 50 pieces, I still haven't figured out what the premium version may be. Would you subscribe if I researched these products further and wrote a product review? Let me know if you have anything in mind.
All right, let's get back on track with the discussion at hand. Just like everyone else, I was terrified upon first encountering deep fake videos and immediately jumped to the conclusion that they were all part of a vast and sinister plot. However, tens of use cases exist that could aid marketing professionals in making films without incurring any overhead costs. I shared my methodology for gauging system complexity. The difficulty of making personalized videos is O(N), meaning that you have to constantly record new videos, however this can be reduced to O(1) with the use of a deep fake type of tool. It will help you out a lot in terms of productivity. Today, I am in possession of a product that handles this task superbly.
Today, tavus is our product.
Tavus is quite simple to use. You record a base video and then choose which bits to make changeable. After that, by simply entering variable values, you may create unique videos with your own voice and appearance. They are fantastic at lip syncing. You may see several instances in the video above. Not much can be said about the product beyond the fact that it has a fairly straightforward flow. I'm still not convinced about the ethics, but it's great to see, and I think it'll be a crowded field for entrepreneurs.
Tavus is backed by Sequoia and YC, therefore they will most likely be a leader in that space. If your marketing or lead generation team has used customised videos before, you are well aware of the benefits. Tavus can readily scale these activities; it's worth a shot!
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
