51 products left, but today Moving Parts
Hi friend 👋,
Many technologies, such as the wheel, electric light, and telephone, drastically changed the globe. Without a doubt, software is one of the most significant. I was not one of those brilliant students who began coding in elementary school. My junior year of college was the first time I realized what software was. And I was blown away; I spent countless hours trying to figure out what was going on under the hood and how to become a better coder. Learning about algorithms and creating something with fewer CPU, memory, or time utilization was a true interest during these days. Of course, software is only useful if it can be put to use in some way. It could be a website, mobile app, desktop software, hardware product, or other type of product. Whatever it is, it requires an interface through which users can engage. And designing the interface is another specialty that I admire.
There are numerous unresolved issues about these skills and their communication. Designers use design studios, and software engineers use integrated development environments (IDEs). They are all attempting to produce an excellent product with really high professional talents; yet, when the design needs to be converted to software, the procedure becomes bizarre. Engineer reviews the design export and integrates it into the software. I am aware that most design programs include an export option, however it is practically hard to use because each software has a different architecture. It's incredible how we normalize this structure and how many different procedures we established only to ensure that the software's end output matches the design exactly. Today's product addresses that issue.
Today, Moving Parts is our product.
You know how much I appreciate indie projects, and Moving Parts and their latest release Pow are two of my favorites. They give various Swift UI components and combinations of these components with native animations built in, and they handle the hard work of implementing them, such as localization or accessibility. For the time being, it is just available for iOS, but I appreciated how many various common UI components they provided. Pow, their second product, provides elegantly built animations similar to Anvil, which is used in almost all Apple presentations.
If you have never created an iOS app, today's offering may not be for you. However, I'm sure you're familiar with the designer and software engineer handover procedure. Moving Parts makes it simple with predetermined components and animations; but, if you know of any other tools that make this process easier, please let us know in the comments!
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
