68 products left, but today Abbot
Hi friend 👋,
Do you remember the days before Slack? To be honest, I don't. I'm not sure how we communicated at work without public and private channels, emojis, and so forth. Of course, there were chat apps, but email was the primary mode of communication at work. So we witnessed a life-changing event at work. Slack altered our perception of communication. I'm still puzzled about what the word "instant" brought into our life. Expecting someone to respond to us all the time appears to be insane at times. However, it is becoming the standard. With Telegram, Whatsapp, Slack, Messenger, iMessage, and other messaging apps... People expect to communicate with other people all the time and in near-real time. Our personal and professional lives are built on this basis.
For the time being, I've said that I work in a team that develops B2B SaaS. And, as you might expect, we use Slack extensively and enjoy constant communication with our clients. So, rather than using a ticketing system, we shifted our customer interactions to Slack. It seems to be so simple at first to keep track of everything, but as you scale, it becomes even more difficult to overlook any vital messages from your clients. Then I encountered today's product.
Today, ab.bot is our product.
Abbot is a Slack bot that assists you in managing all of your "Connection Channels" in your support process. It monitors response times and sends issues to the relevant person based on your escalation matrix. It's also useful to use its Announcement feature when you need to notify a group of clients about anything. It's so ingrained in Slack's workflow that you can open and close issues using emoticons.
Again, a minor problem and an outstanding, elegant, and straightforward solution that makes me adore that product. And here's a wonderful suggestion for evaluating a product: if it's backed by YC or Techstars, and it's launched in ProductHunt and finished in the top three, you're probably in good hands. Abbot gives both, and it's worth a chance.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
