76 products left, but today untools
Hi friend 👋,
How can you get started on whatever problems you have? How do you communicate your decisions to the team members? What is the best way to compare two products? How do you begin a discussion? The answers to these questions are only valuable if we apply the process consistently and do not overlook any part of the problem. It is challenging to provide a novel, universal solution to every issue. That's why I find frameworks to be so useful. Every one of them has been tried out in hundreds of different scenarios with a wide variety of people. That being the case, you can count on them. We should be cautious if our creativity is stifled, but they are an excellent first step.
Assume you are constantly utilizing these frameworks. The next stage is considerably more difficult. How would you articulate that to the team? Is it a deck? Or, is it doc? Or sheet? Perhaps a Miro file? They each have their unique flaws that make them inadequate for the position. Stresses me out because I have to spend more time on border colors and thickness than on the actual framework.
Today, untools is our product.
Untools is not yet finished. At the very least, the app is not ready. But it was created by a maker, so I'm optimistic. Right now, the tool includes a list of frameworks with detailed explanations that you can use. It also includes templates for usage with Notion, which is really useful. It's straightforward and solid.
I'm not sure whether I'm being overly optimistic, but I need these kinds of features in GSuite or Office365 in their own style. Consider having "Google Think" or "MS Thoughts" that can be accessed and shared within the browser. Even if I despise their growth approach via clones like Keep or Teams, it improves our end-user experience.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
