77 products left, but today Vimcal
Hi friend 👋,
If we were to make a list of the most often used sentences in our workplace during the last two years, it would most likely look something like this:
“Oh, I think you’re on mute”
“Can you see my screen now?”
“Here is my availability” (and of course it is hyperlinked)
They share a common characteristic. It's a huge pain in the neck to say any of them. We can all see he is muted, and we get that the green tinted boundaries mean they could see our screen. However, expecting someone to visit the link and see all of our available dates and times is ludicrous. It appears to be convenient, but it is not. Some meetings are not equal to others, and no one wants to attend three consecutive customer or hiring meetings. We have the most intimate knowledge of our calendars and the understanding that each of these squares has a unique set of demands for each day. As a result, composition is our duty.
Sharing 3-4 selections is always preferable to sharing a link with tens of options.
Today, Vimcal is our product.
Vimcal recently released an iOS mobile app. I couldn't get it to work, but their Mac application was usually a good option for sharing multiple alternate availability for a potential meeting. If you work with a multi-national team, seeing different timezones on the app can be a lifesaver. As a final bit of context for Vimcal, the company's founders dreamed of the idea for the company while seeking investment for an earlier startup. Calendly links are quite impolite, so he came up with a classy solution.
A few days ago, I shared Motion with you and mentioned how fantastic it is to observe how a fresh perspective can make a difference when it comes to problem solving. Another thing Vimcal demonstrates is how a closer look can make a difference. Some problems are made up of many minor ones, and even picking one and solving it in the best way possible will allow you to start a business.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
