Hi friend 👋,
Have you ever been in a maker mood? Beginning something for no other reason than to satisfy your own natural curiosity or to address a pressing issue is a commendable mindset to have. While I can't speak to the business viability, my own experience suggests that when those with a "maker mindset" (or "makers") are given the space and time to develop their ideas, the results are often excellent. A similar sense of liberation and want to make changes in my environment crosses my mind occasionally, but it never lasts. Being OK with the problems is simple, and even if it isn't, you must maintain a laser-like focus to avoid being distracted by other issues. In my world, if the answer takes too long, it permits me to think about other problems; I get paralyzed. So I'm a man who believes in one-hour solutions. What a pity...
The strangest thing happened to me yesterday. My desktop screen appeared in my Mac. It's been a long time... Literally hundreds of screenshots are lined up next to one another. It was truly astounding. And I'll let you in on a little secret: I opened several of them in Figma to double-check the color, round off the border, blur a few areas, and measure the distances between the various screen parts. I was also using a browser plugin that allows me to snap a screenshot of a whole website while scrolling. Then I recall today's product... I recall one of my colleagues showing me the tool, which I had never used until yesterday...
Today, Shottr is our product.
Shottr is a fantastic tool created by a true creator. For the past two and a half years, the project has been ongoing. It's ideal for screenshots because it doesn't do anything fancy other than the utilities. You may use the color picker, measure the screen, blur text or shape (yes, they are distinct! ), add arrows, utilize counters for comments, and many other features... I absolutely adored the tool.
Resolving problems without placing unreasonable expectations on others is an admirable trait. I don't think that was a challenging task for a creator, yet he took it. Furthermore, I am aware that simply being in a "maker mood" might improve our mood. It's as if a piece of our being develops sentience and begins to act autonomously, influencing others' lives without physical contact. It's the most wonderful sensation ever.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
I was using Lightshot (https://app.prntscr.com/en/) but Shottr seems a better option with more capabilities. Thanks for the recommendation Aykut! 🙌🏽
