80 products left, but today Playhouse
Hi friend 👋,
Binge watching on YouTube is fantastic. I learned a lot of stuff from frightening videos on YouTube. What is inside our shoes? For anyone interested, here is how the Japanese prepare a fish meal. How should we prepare for a week spent in the woods? I have the answers. In theory, sure. Aside from these incredibly(!) interesting videos, my guilty pleasure is looking at homes all around the world. There are numerous YouTube channels where you may find the nicest homes in various nations.
Apartment hunting is a nasty process because you have to look at a lot of unappealing places. You have hundreds of apartments to research, and it's often difficult to tell from the provided fish-eye images whether or not a given apartment is adequately sized for your needs. You filter, sort, and begin checking one by one. If you don't like it, go back and choose another. After 10–15 minutes, your brain will be too fried to recall where you left off, so you need make an extra effort. A needle in a haystack metaphor comes to mind.
So what if someone improved the experience and made it more user friendly?
Today Playhouse is our product.
Playhouse was described in a TechCrunch piece as "Tiktok meets Zillow," which says it all. Currently, the app only features listings for high-end homes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Just like Tesla's approach, which you may recall, I believe this works. Also, the app includes a fun little game where you may mess around with the shown costs. You may view all the available houses and view detailed information on each one.
They are funded by YC, and their operational expenditures are low at this point. It appears that they are investing in the experience itself, particularly for the younger generation. Scaling will be simple if they thrive at the application.
And, certainly, a wonderful Sunday morning companion.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
