89 products left, but today Flowla
Hi friend 👋,
About ten years ago, I founded a company with lofty ambitions to make a positive impact on the world. I've always had the firm belief that revolutionary products have the power to transform consumer habits, and that by transforming those habits, the world at large can be changed. Imagine what Medium and Substack did to us. As an avid reader, I am always interested in hearing others' genuine perspectives. These two tools simplified my daily reading routine and helped me become a better person. Since I've been working on myself, I've probably made wiser choices. You recognized the pattern.
So, we created Jukela to revolutionize the way guests of cafes and bars interact with the tunes playing in the venue. We saw it as a means of fostering friendships and networks in the real world. Though I find it fascinating still, creating a marketplace startup for newcomers proved challenging. We were doomed to fail.
Back then, there was another product, Cubic.fm, that I admired more than ours. Cubic.fm was essentially a crowd-sourced radio station where you could listen to music according on your mood, weather, and so forth. Also, it's filled with thoughtful additions such, "someone from Paris added this" or Instagram pictures with the same hashtags. As soon as you begin using the product, it's clear that it was designed by someone with excellent taste. Cubic.fm's "delight" feature has just been excellent for those years.
During these years, I met with the co-founder of today's product while he was in charge of Cubic.fm. They also failed as a result of all the licensing crap. Like everyone else, they went belly up due to ridiculous licensing requirements. Check out The Playlist on Netflix; it will shed light on what we went through.
Now that you know the backstory, I'll fill you in on what's happening right now. Even if you have a fantastic self-service product, if you are in the B2B area, you have "deals" that you need to "close." And closing a contract is always difficult because a single organization may have several buyer personas, user personas, and even gatekeepers. To close a contract, you must first form a consortium. Some of them require onboarding documents, others require security checks, whilst others require references, and so on. When you have 5 distinct email threads with 20+ emails each thread for a single client, you suspect something is wrong.
Today, Flowla is our product.
Flowla allows you to design a personalized journey as well as a basic deal room for you and your clients. Of course, sales are the primary application presently, but other scenarios, such as the fundraising process, employee onboarding, and internal education, can benefit greatly from the platform as well. It's a gorgeous URL to which you can add videos, articles, Google Docs, call to actions, and so on. The true beauty begins when you share the URL with your intended recipient. After that, you'll notice where they look and how many times they scan right away. In sales, your best chance of getting a response is to simply inquire when the prospect is thinking about you.
And as I mentioned at the start, it's created by those with exquisite taste. Thus, I am confident that you will enjoy using it.
We’ll talk again tomorrow!
