95 products left, but today GOAT
Hi friend π,
When I first began this challenge, I thought it would be fun to have some fun products for the weekends. Maybe physical goods? Napkin holders in public restrooms, can openers, and possibly TV remote controls... Then I realized it might be awkward because we have several weeks ahead of us. So repeating the same jokes every other week is not cool. Being really honest, I have this problem frequently. I sometimes work so hard for the same joke... Anywayβ¦
On weekends, I'll indulge in my guilty pleasures and talk about them. Yes, let's get started. My name is Aykut, and I am a huge fan of sneakers. Trying to buy famous models is like a hobby for me, and yes, it is disgusting in some ways. Stan Smiths, Air Max, Forum, Club C 85, Air Jordan Low Neck, Oxford, and so on. And, as if I don't have enough, I check every sneaker in the world, including the Asian market.
Today, GOAT is our product.
I first met GOAT while in the US for another event with our CEO, who also has a sneaker obsession. He showed me the app, and I fell in love with it right away. Of course, there are hundreds of other sneaker marketplaces to choose from, but GOAT has the taste. Their search engine is fantastic. When you first use it, you feel as if you're in a never-ending world of sneakers.
Their service is also intriguing. They have a marketplace mode even for C2C, but they are a middleman and even check the product's originality. Classics, collection items, and ultra-luxurious items are all available. And the content changes on a regular basis, so it's like "hmm... let me check what's in GOAT this week" for me. That thing works like a retention machine. If they show all products at the same time, probably itβll not be like that. The product's utilization of augmented reality try-ons is also a cool feature. My mental image of an elderly man wearing a brightly colored, baggy t-shirt is conjured up whenever I encounter augmented reality in a shopping app. Something is wrong and does not appear right. On the other hand, using GOAT is totally chill. Like a rock star, her arms are covered in tattoos.
They also provide excellent retail media assets, including content about trends, fashions, and narratives from many countries. It's weird how excited I get when I talk about these things because I'm an M&S or Uniqlo guy in my everyday life. I'm not sure, but I believe that not only sneakers, but all outfit selections, reveal a lot about a person's personality. I'm not referring to pricey items, but rather to the minor touches you use. The color selections and combinations tell a lot as to what fascinates me about understanding people.
Even if you aren't a sneakerhead, you should check out GOAT to see how a creative strategy may be implemented in a commercial platform.
We'll talk again tomorrow!
